Ross Jail Inmate Sets Off Jail Fire Suppression System

A Ross County Jail inmate is facing charges after tampering with the jail's fire suppression system, causing water to spray into his cell and housing unit.

Sheriff George Lavender says inmate, Bryan Bobo, 24, set off the system from inside his cell around 10:50 p.m., Wednesday.

Prisoners in the housing unit were transferred to other housing units while the water was shut off and the sprinkler head replaced.

An assessment of the damage is still being conducted. Charges against Bobo will be decided by the amount of damage caused.

The Chillicothe Fire Department and Ross County Maintenance Personnel assisted during the incident.
