The responding officer, suspecting an overdose situation, administered two doses of Narcan to the 43-year-old woman at the scene. A third was later administered by staff at Adena Regional Medical Center.

A search of the woman's purse yielded a small bag of white powder, believed to be heroin, a few prescription pills, and two straws containing powdery residue.
