The Clinton County Fair Hog Show has been shutdown after at least one case of swine flu was discovered Thursday.
Harry Wright of WCHO-FM in Washington CH reported shortly before 1:00 p.m. Thursday that fair officials had closed the hog show and that the closure was due to a case of swine flu.
Gretta Gray, Director of the Clinton County Ag Society, confirmed shortly before 2:00 p.m. that at least one case of swine flu had been found and that the Hog Barn is now under a state mandated quarantine.
Gray said the hog barn will remain closed to the public throughout the remainder of the fair and that the hog show will be treated as a terminal show, meaning the hogs will not be sold to market, but slaughtered.
The Clinton County Fair runs through this Saturday, July 15th.
