Chillicothe Street and Alley Paving Begins July 28

The City of Chillicothe's 2017 Street and Alley project begins on Friday, July 28th.

In a press release Wednesday, Interim City Engineer Richard Johnson announced that paving operations will take place, weather permitting, in the area of Yoctangee Parkway. The paving work will require that one lane in each direction be closed from Water Street to Mill Street. Property owners will be allowed access to their properties but may be subject to some delay.  Work will proceed each day until it is deemed appropriate to stop.

The motoring public is advised to plan for alternate routes in these locations.  The roads slated for work will be posted 48 hours in advance for “No Parking” beginning at 7:00 AM on the day of the work. Any vehicle not moved may be subject to towing. Also be aware that large slow moving vehicles will be in the area. Some dust and disruption of routes to and from destinations should be expected.

Johnson asks that drivers use caution and be patient and obey all traffic control including construction flaggers while in or near the construction area.

The work is the result of the City Street & Alley levy passed by voters in May, 2015.
