Toledo Man Charged In Counter-Protesters Crash

(Charlottesville, VA)  --  An Ohio man is being charged with second-degree murder for driving a car into a crowd of counter-protesters yesterday at a white nationalist rally in Virginia.

Charlottesville police say James Fields Jr. from Maumee is also facing charges of malicious woundings and failure to stop at the scene of an accident that resulted in death.

The 20-year-old white man is the registered owner of the car that crashed into counter-protesters at a crowded intersection yesterday, killing a woman and injuring more than a dozen other people.

Ohio Governor John Kasich is one of many politicians across the country who took to social media condemning the violent protests.

Kasich said "racism and violence have no place in America.  All of us must condemn hate wherever it is found."
