Chillicotheans are getting ready for the total solar eclipse.
Several places will be hosting solar eclipse parties 2pm tomorrow, including the Chillicothe and Ross County Public Library and Ohio University Chillicothe. Both organizations will have a limited number of free solar eclipse glasses.
Hopewell Culture National Historic Park has free cardboard eclipse glasses while supplies last, with one per family.
The special glasses can also be purchased at Walmart and Kroger.
The city pool will have free admission from noon to 7pm Monday for "Solar Eclipse Day."
Mayor Luke Feeney also announced that the city administration buildling will be closed for the hour of the eclipse, 2 to 3pm.
Everyone is also reminded to not look at the eclipse without authentic glasses.
