Cuts may be on the way for cost-of-living adjustments for retirees covered by OPERS.
Limits and freezing cost of living adjustments are right now being considered. The Executive Director of the Ohio Public Employees Retirement System has sent a memo to lawmakers at the statehouse and says the changes are being considered while the pension fund is healthy.
That executive says retirees should not expect immediate changes, and the process will remain open and public.
We reached out to an OPERS spokesman who declined to be interviewed for this story.
