The first crash occurred just before 3pm in Pike County on State Route 32 at the intersection of Shyville Road. A vehicle driven by Betty Thompson of Piketon was traveling northbound on Shyville Road in the intersection of Route 32, when an eastbound dump-truck, driven by James Seymour of Chillicothe, failed to yield at a red-light, traveling through the intersection, striking Thompson’s vehicle in the left side. Mrs. Thompson was transported by Seal Township EMS to Adena-Pike Medical Center in stable condition.
At 10:49pm, the Patrol was called to a two vehicle injury crash on State Route 104 in Union Township. A car driven by 21-year-old Miranda Borders of Circleville, and passenger 1-year-old Felicity Reynolds, was traveling northbound when Borders made head-on contact in the southbound lanes with a 2004 Chevrolet Impala. The driver of the Impala fled the scene on foot. Miss Borders and her daughter were transported by Union Township EMS to Adena Regional Medical Center in stable condition. Miss Borders was later transported to Grant Medical Center in Columbus and Miss Reynolds was transported to Nationwide Children’s Hospital.
