The Scioto Valley Conference will see their volleyball co-leaders going head-to-head Tuesday, with sole possession of first place on the line to close the first round of conference play. Both Southeastern and Unioto won in straight sets Thursday, improving to (6-0) in SVC play.
Unioto swept Paint Valley 25-11, 25-8, 25-16. Southeastern did likewise to Piketon, 25-11, 25-17, 25-16. The Panthers are unbeaten in their overall record for the season, while the Shermans have one non-conference loss.
Tuesday's match at Unioto High School, will be broadcast on 94 Country WKKJ and iHeart Radio, with airtime approximately 6pm with Mike Smith and Tom Beard.
In other SVC play, Thursday, Westfall won a five-set thriller over Huntington 25-18, 19-25, 25-15, 13-25, 15-13. Adena swept Zane Trace 25-18, 25-17, 25-14.
In a key Mid State League match, number 2 state ranked Logan Elm lost for the first time of the season, dropping a five-set decision to Hamilton Township 25-23, 24-26, 25-19, 16-25, 15-11. The Rangers are (4-0) in the MSL, one match ahead of the Braves.
