Energy Secretary Rick Perry is set to visit the former Portsmouth Gaseous Diffusion Plant near Piketon on Friday.
Perry was previously scheduled to visit the site in late July, but had to cancel due to a unexpectedly scheduled Cabinet meeting for that day.
The Columbus Dispatch reports that Senators Sherrod Brown and Rob Portman have urged Perry to visit the plant since March. The two have lobbied both Perry and prior administrations to support cleanup of the plant, which stopped producing enriched uranium in 2001.
