The Facebook page of the Ross County Sheriff's Office has confirmed that a local fugitive was killed in Kentucky last night, across the river from Ironton.
At 3pm Friday, an update stated "Kentucky Officials confirmed that Kiser Sturgell was killed last night in Flatwoods, Kentucky after a chase." No other new iformation has been posted.
WSAZ TV in Huntington, West Virginia, reports Sturgell was one of two people who died after a massive police chase involving multiple agencies and reports of up to 20 shots fired in Flatwoods, Kentucky.
So far, both Ohio and Kentucky law enforcement has released very little on the indident.
Sturgell, an August Parolee, escaped an attempted warrant arrest Wednesday and carjacked his way from Keiser Road in Ross County.
