The Chillicothe Parks & Recreation Department and Chillicothe Transit are joining forces once again for the annual Holiday Lights Competition and Holiday Lights Tour.
Chillicothe residents can now enter the Holiday Lights Competition. Clint Boggs with Parks and Recreation says they're looking for both traditional displays and some that are little more outlandish."We will be doing two categories this year," said Boggs. "There's a 'Clark Grizwold' category which looks for excessive use of lighting and decorations, and the 'Norman Rockwell' category which is more traditional and nostalgic."There will be prizes awarded to the top three winners in each category."There'll be a first, second, and third place winner for each category," said Boggs. "We'll be giving out a free shelter rental and four day-passes to the Chillicothe pool for first place, second will be a free shelter rental, and third will receive four free day-passes to the pool."

The entry deadline for the competition is at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, December 6th. Judging will take place the following day.
Once the winners are selected, they'll be included as locations for the Transit Department's Holiday Lights Tours which are set to take place on December 13th, 14th, and 15th. "We'll take you around the city in to each residential area to see the winners," said Boggs. "You'll see all the first, second and third place winners."Tickets for the bus tours will be available for $1.00 starting December 1st at the Transit Office on the corner of Seventh and Watt.
