Burg & Clinton Massie Headed for FB State Finals

Two area high school football teams will be going to familiar territory, the OHSAA State Football Championship Game.

The Wheelersburg Pirates rallied from a 7-0 halftime deficit to beat Middleton Madison 15-10 in the Division 5 State Semi at Chillicothe's Herrnstein Field. The Burg improves to (14-0) and will travel to Canton, Ohio for the state title game against (14-0) Pemberville Eastwood, who advanced with a 21-7 win over South Ridge. Wheelersburg has one state crown to their credit, in 1989. The Wheelersburg vs Eastwood Division 5 Championship will be played at 3pm December 1st and can be heard on Easy 1350 WCHI & iHeart Radio, through the OHSAA Radio Network.

In Division 4, former SCOL member Clinton Massie also had to come-back from trailing at halftime, to beat New Concord John Glenn 28-21. The (13-1) Falcons will play (14-0) Steubenville, who advanced with a 35-22 victory over Shelby. The Big Red trailed 22-21 at halftime, but held Shelby scoreless in the second half. Clinton Massie has two state titles in their school history. The D-4 state title game will be Saturday at 3pm and will also be heard on WCHI & iHeart Radio.

Easy 1350 WCHI & iHeart Radio will have live coverage of state championship games on Friday and the 10am and 3pm games on Saturday, through the OHSAA Radio Network. Due to conflicts with the broadcasts for the Cleveland Cavs on WCHI, we are unable to carry the Thursday and late Saturday night games.
