2017 Zane Trace Tip-Off Classic

The Annual Zane Trace Tip-Off Classic will be held December 1st-2nd, featuring 10 high school basketball games being played at "The Pit", and two new members being inducted into the Tip-Off Classic Hall of Fame.

Games to be played are as follows:

Zane Trace Girls vs Nelsonville-York- 3:30pm

Huntington Boys vs Nelsonville-York- 5:15pm

Paint Valley Boys vs Amanda Clearcreek- 6:45pm

Zane Trace Boys vs Circleville- 8:15pm


Kirk Maxwell graduated from Zane Trace in 2010 as a three sport athlete in football, basketball and baseball. His Senior year, he was named the SVC Player of the Year in basketball and football, as well as, being All-State Special Mention in basketball and All-State Honorable Mention in football. Kirk also has 1,213 career points at Zane Trace. 

Maxwell will be inducted at halftime of the Paint Valley vs Amanda-Clearcreek game.

He attended Ohio University in Athens from 2010-2013 and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Business Administration. From there he began his professional career at Alliance Data Systems in Columbus, OH where he worked for three years as an account manager before moving home in 2016. He is now a Loan Officer at Kingston National Bank in their Western Ave branch. 

He lives in Chillicothe with his wife, Katelyn, their 2 month old baby girl, Brinley and their two boxers, Moose & Marley.

Allison Cox-Cooper Allison is a 2003 graduate of Zane Trace High School. She is a 4-time letterman in softball (2003- 2006), and a 4-time Player of the Year recipient in softball. She is the only athlete in the SVC, in any sport, to earn Player of the Year all 4 years. 

Allison Cox-Cooper will be inducted at halftime of the Zane Trace-Circleville game.

In High School she earned 1st Team All-Ohio in 2004, 2005, & 2006. She earned 1st Team all District in 2004, 2005, & 2006 and was District Player of the Year in 2005 & 2006. She was named Gazette Player of the Year in 2003 & 2004. 

The 2005 Zane Trace Softball Team was State Runner up, losing 1-0 in the state championship game. During her tenure, Zane Trace Softball won the SVC Gold Ball in 2003, 2004, & 2006, with an SVC record of 55-1 and overall record of 98-16. 

Allison recorded her 1000th career strikeout in 2006 against Piketon and extended her high school strikeout total to 1032. Allison was coached by Bill Fetters. 

Allison also played travel ball for the Lady Lasers Gold. They won a National Championship in 2003 and runner up in 2004. They also won the Oklahoma ASA Hall of Fame champions in 2005. She was coached by Art Fedak. 

Allison earned a full ride scholarship for 5 years to play softball at Division 1, Wright State University. She attended WSU from 2007 – 2010. During her career at WSU, her team earned a spot in the NCAA tournament 3 of the 4 years and in 2010 she led them to a victory with a 3 run home run against Northern Illinois. During Allison’s freshman year, while participating in the Las Vegas Invitational, she hit a home run against NCAA Powerhouse UCLA’s #1 pitcher. While playing at WSU, she received numerous awards: All Horizon League Tournament Team – 2007 & 2010 1st Team All League 2009 1st Team All Region 2010 (this is the last step before being named All American) Pitcher of the week - March 2007,– Horizon League Player of the week – April 2009, Horizon League NCAA Team Qualifier - 2007, 2008, 2010. 

Allison graduated from Wright State University with degree in Psychology. She then went on to attend Shawnee State University and graduated with a degree in Physical Therapy.
