Comments Welcomed for Bridge Work in Jackson County

As part of the Ohio Department of Transportation Environmental Office is seeking public input for a dual bridge replacement project on State Route 124 in Jackson County.

It is proposed to replace two structures on State Route 124, both of which are located between T.R. 966 (No. 10 Hollow Road) and T.R. 174 (Tower Ridge Road), just west of the Vinton County line in Milton Township.

The project will require approximately 0.205 acres of permanent right of way at each location; however, no homes or businesses will be removed as a result of the project.

A contract is scheduled to be awarded in the spring of 2019, and a closure of the route will be required for the duration of the project.

Additional information, including a complete description, maps and plans sheets, is available online at www.dot.state.oh.us/districts/D09/Pages/Public-Involvement-Process.aspx.

Issues the public may wish to comment on include the effect on local residents, air quality, the local economy, and historic or cultural resources.

Written comments should be submitted by December 27, 2017.
