As part of the Ohio Department of Transportation – District 9’s Planning Department, the district’s Environmental Office is seeking public input for a bridge rehabilitation project on U.S. Route 35 in Jackson County.
It is proposed to rehabilitate the structure located at the 0.41-mile marker, between Township Road 514 (Wilson Road) and County Road 27 (Bronx Corner Road) and just east of the Jackson-Ross Count line in Jackson Township. The project consists of lining the existing 72-inch corrugated metal pipe with a 60-inch pipe liner and replacing the headwalls.
The project will not require any new right of way, and no homes or businesses will be removed as a result of the project. A contract is scheduled to be awarded in the summer of 2018, and although a closure of the route will not be necessary, short-term lane restrictions will be in effect during construction.
Additional information, including a complete description, maps and plans sheets, is available online at www.dot.state.oh.us/districts/D09/Pages/Public-Involvement-Process.aspx. Issues the public may wish to comment on include the effect on local residents, air quality, the local economy, and historic or cultural resources.
