County Engineer Warns Motorists of "Black Ice"

Winter is here and that means the potential for challenging conditions for motorists.

Highland County Engineer Dean Ottworth says black ice can be difficult for motorists to see, because it sometimes isn't as shiny as icy roads with snow under it.

Bridges, overpasses and shady areas are the most common places for ice to gather on the roads and can freeze before other parts of the road.
