Property Tax Payment Rush Not Seen Locally

No one really knows at this point how much you could save by prepaying your 2018 property taxes, but it's not stopping people from trying.

On Wednesday, there was a line nearly a quarter-mile long outside the Fairfax Government Center in Fairfax, Virginia as residents attempted to pay early to avoid higher rates set forth in the new tax reform plan.  Officials there say they have not seen this long of a line in 25 years.

While that might be happening in some areas of the nation, it hasn't been seen locally.

Lynn Rose, the Chief Deputy Treasurer for Ross County, says they have not seen any more of a year-end rush than what they typically see.
