Troopers are keeping a close eye on Ohio roadways as the new year approaches.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol will be stepping up efforts tonight to keep drunk drivers from injuring or killing other people welcoming in 2018.
Troopers are reminding those who drink to designate a sober driver or call for a ride.
In the meantime, snow as well as bitter-cold temperatures are in the forecast for the holiday and police urge drivers to be cautious as they head out to celebrations and return from them.
