Leroy Silvani: Father of Unioto Sports

The man who helped start high school sports at Unioto High School, Leroy Silvani, died January 11th. The 89-year-old Silvani was a resident of a rest home in Sandusky, when he died.

Leroy Silvani was the first basketball and football coach at Unioto in the early 1960's, and was one of the instrumental figures in forming the Scioto Valley Conference in 1961-62.

High School Baseball Hall of Famer Don Neff, will join us on the McDonald's SVC Golden Moments this Friday and Saturday night, during halftime of our Herrnstein Hyundai broadcasts, to remember Silvani and his impact on local high school sports.
