A young Ross County woman was killed in a crash Wednesday morning on Veterans Parkway.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol reports that 19-year-old Ashton Junk of Chillicothe died from her injuries in the 10:44am crash.
The OSP says Junk was traveling south on Veteran’s Parkway, when she drove off the right side of the roadway, over corrected, and slid off the left side of the roadway. A pickup driven by 63-year-old Mitchell G. Vanmeter of Frankfort was northbound and drove off the right side of the road to avoid striking Junks vehicle, and the vehicles collided in the ditch.
Miss Junk was transported by Union Township EMS to Adena Regional Medical Center where she succumbed to her injuries. Vanmeter was transported by Scioto Township EMS to Adena Regional Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
