The Ross County Auditor’s Office is extending the deadline to purchase dog licenses without incurring a penalty.
Ross County Auditor, Tomas Spetnagel Jr. says the extension was recently approved by the Board of Commissioners. Dog owners will now have until February 15th to purchase a license(s) before a penalty is charged. The original cut off date was January 31st.
Starting February 16th, state law will require that a $10.00 penalty be assessed in addition to the regular $10.00 registration fee for each dog license issued. A $50.00 penalty will be added to the regular $50.00 registration fee for each kennel license issued.
