The Scioto Soil & Water Conservation District is offering two educational sessions next month.
On February 10th is a Livestock Predator Management Workshop at the OSU South Centers at 1864 Shyville Road near Piketon.
This is an event for livestock producers to help them learn many techniques that will help them deal with predator threats from coyotes and the encroaching black vulture population.
The Scioto Soil and Water Conservation District is partnering with US Fish and Wildlife Service, OSU Extension, and USDA Wildlife Service to offer this program.
Then on February 10th is Conservation School at the Scioto Career & Technology Center near Lucasville.
Have you ever wanted to learn about beekeeping or raising chickens? How about learning about wildlife and invasive weeds? Do you want to sell some timber but need some more information? Would you like to win great prizes too?
Conservation School will offer a dinner and the opportunity to attend two classes. It's $10 at the door, $5 for Farm Bureau Members, kids free.
Scioto County Farm Bureau and Farm Credit Services are sponsoring dinner and great useful door prizes for session attendees including beekeeping starter kits, chainsaw, bluebird houses, and much more.
Registration is required for both at www.sciotoswcd.org or by calling 740-259-9231 extension 4. See website for details or www.facebook.com/sciotoswcd.
