The Pike County Sheriff says a suspect was hurt after a deputy-involved shooting in Pike County Thursday morning.
The shooting was reported around 4:30am, when a deputy opened fired on a suspect.The sheriff says the incident was contained in the area of State Route 124 from Morgan's Fork Road to Beaver's Ridge Road.
The route was closed this morning- due to the shooting investigation, which resulted in Western Schools being closed because the route to the school was blocked off.
Eyewitnesses near the scene believe the suspect is barricaded inside a mobile home.
The exact details of the shooting have yet to be released, but the sheriff confirmed only the suspect was hurt, not the deputy.
