The company that owns the Glatfelter Paper Mill says it may sell the Chillicothe plant. The impending decision is part of a company effort to refocus the parts of its business that are thriving.
The company has experienced profitability issues in its Specialty Papers Division which includes the Chillicothe plant. The potential sale would allow the company to focus on other divisions of the company that are showing better financial performance.
The Chillicothe mill will stay open while the company reviews its options.
The development comes a little more than a week since local internet, telephone and cable provider, Horizon Telcom, announced that it would be selling to new ownership.
