Bill Proposes Later Start To School Year

71 percent of Ohio voters surveyed by the Ohio Travel Association say schools should not start classes before the end of August.

A bill at the statehouse would require districts to wait until after Labor Day to start classes, unless school boards gather community input about starting earlier.

The travel association has a vested interest in it, though, because the travel season would be extended just a bit longer if back to school came later.
