Lucasville Man in Critical Condition Following Pike County Crash

A Lucasville man is fighting for his life following a two-vehicle crash on U.S. 23 in Pike County.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Gabriel Pennington, 38, was flown to St. Mary's Hospital in Huntington, West Virginia after he was ejected from his vehicle near Seif Road.

The Patrol says the crash occurred around 7:50 a.m. Tuesday when Pennington rear-ended an Oshkosh Concrete Truck, operated by Terry Schwalbach, 56, of Portsmouth. The impact caused Pennington's vehicle to travel of the left side of the roadway where it overturned, ejecting him.

Mr. Pennington is listed in critical condition. Mr. Schwalbach was uninjured.
