Chillicothe Woman Indicted in Death of Local Teen

A local woman was indicted on felony charges stemming from the death of a 17-year-old Chillicothe High School student. According to Ross County Prosecutor Matt Schmidt, Sandy France, 33, of Chillicothe, was indicted on two alternate counts of involuntary manslaughter, alleging she recklessly caused the death of Jason Bartley, Jr., as a "proximate result of committing a misdemeanor."

Schmidt said the first count charges the misdemeanor was for contributing to the delinquency of a minor, while the second count charges the misdemeanor was for buying, selling, or furnishing alcohol to an under-aged person.

France was taken into custody on the secret indictment on Friday.

Bartley was found dead in an alley in Chillicothe in October.
