Vinton County National Bank Recognized by Secretary of State

Vinton County National Bank (VCNB) was honored to be named one of the April businesses recognized by Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted as part of the Secretary’s Ohio Business Profile Program.

Each month, Secretary Husted chooses a handful of outstanding businesses that do work in a specific field.

He declared April as “Investing in Your Future” Month to highlight businesses that offer financial advice and guidance to Ohioans preparing for their future.

This theme was chosen because making important financial decisions can be an intimidating process and the Secretary wished to highlight institutions working to assist people and businesses in the process.

VCNB was selected for the work the bank does serving local communities through seventeen branches in eight counties by sponsoring financial literacy programs and giving monetary donations to worthy causes throughout the year.

VCNB is currently being profiled on the Secretary of State’s web page and social media. Regional Liaison Bryn Stepp participated in a brief ceremony and reception on Friday afternoon to present the bank with a certificate marking the honor.

VCNB President Ron Collins accepted the certificate on behalf of the company’s approximate 239 employees by quoting football coach Woody Hayes who said “You win with people.”

He said "You win with people’ and I’ve always believed that. A lot of the people here have been with us for twenty years. Probably 25 percent of our employees have been here for twenty years or longer,” he said, gesturing to the audience of employees.
