In other action involving SVC teams in the sectional finals, Portsmouth West took advantage of Paint Valley errors and multiple walks for a 10-3 victory. West struck for three runs in the top of the first and were up 5-1 after two innings. That lead increased to 7-1 in the third, and later 9-2 in the fifth.

Both teams each traded a run the rest of the game until the 10-3 final. The Bearcats close their season with a (15-12) mark.

Huntington ran into a buzz-saw at Minford, with the Falcons earning a 9-0 win for a sectional title. The sectional runner-up finish under new Head Coach Ed Yates, closed the book on a turn-around (14-14) season.
