Ohio's Unemployment Rate Remains Higher

Ohio's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate dropped from 4.4 percent to 4.3 percent in April but remained higher than the national rate.

The latest jobless rate is nearly a point lower than a year ago, when it was 5.1 percent.

The state's Job and Family Services Department says there are 249,000 Ohioans who are unemployed, down 4,000 from the previous month.

The national rate is 3.9 percent.
