BREAKING NEWS: Waverly Stabbing Suspect Captured


UPDATE- The suspect in early Thursday morning stabbing in Waverly, has been taken into custody. He was located on State Route 32 at Union Hill by the Ohio Highway Patrol after crashing the car he fled in. Along with State Troopers, officers from the Waverly Police Department and the Pike County Sheriff's Department responded to the scene.


Police were called to a Morningside Drive home at 2:10am, where they found 33-year-old Brandi Hawthorne Smith and her 7-year-old daughter suffering from multiple stab wounds. Both of the stabbing victims were taken to Adena Pike Hospital.


The suspect is Smith's 15-year-old nephew, Cameron Hawthorne.
