Communities Receive Help for Failing Sewer Treatment Systems


Ohio EPA is offering communities financial assistance through the Water Pollution Control Loan Fund (WPCLF) to help low- to moderate-income homeowners repair and replace failing home sewage treatment systems (HSTS). 


It is estimated that about 31 percent of all household sewage treatment systems throughout Ohio are experiencing some degree of failure due to poor maintenance or age. 


Area communities to receive funda are:

Ross County, $200,000

Pike County General Health District, $200,000

Hocking County, $200,000

Jackson County Health Department, $200,000

Vinton County, $120,000
