A standoff with authorities in Pike County on Wednesday ended with two people dead.

According to Pike County Sheriff Charles Reader, an officer-involved shooting took place during an operation at a Waverly home- involving a Franklin County Sheriff's SWAT team that had been called in to assist. Sheriff Reader says at least one person was shot and killed. The cause of the second persons death is unknown. No deputies were injured.

Pike County Prosecutor Rob Junk told ABC6 that it appears SWAT Team deputies exchanged gunfire with 44–year-old David Arthur, who was wanted out of Scioto County, after he fired on them. Arthur was fatally shot.  A second man inside the home, Barry Leeth, was found dead. Leeth owned the home but authorities haven't learned what caused his death.

Investigators from Franklin County and the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation are investigating.
