Pastor Protection Act Under Way at Statehouse

House lawmakers have voted majority in favor of House Bill 36, also known at the Pastor Protection Act, which allows churches and pastors to turn away certain requests for service based on religious beliefs.

Representative Nino Vitale, an Urbana Republican, is the lead sponsor of the Ohio Pastors and Churches Protection Act.  He asked if Ohio wants to be a state that imposes on pastors.

Governor Kasich will be asked to sign the bill immediately, if the Senate approves it. The Ohio Christian Alliance praises the move. Equality Ohio has come out against it.
