Chillicothe Ready With July 4th Fireworks Plan

Chillicothe's July 4th Fireworks are this Wednesday night and city officials are advising spectators how to get the most enjoyment from the event with as little traffic hassle as possible.

City Parks & Rec Director Bill Bonner encourages people to make a day of it at Yoctangee Park. The evening city pool party is open for anyone paying $25, which covers one adult and a child 13 & under. The fireworks should start between 9:45pm-10pm, with the Skyworks Music on 94 Country WKKJ, brought to you by Dairy Queens of Chillicothe.

Chillicothe Police will be directing traffic on North High Street, Yoctangee Parkway & East Water. The department says motorists will not be allowed to turn left from North High onto all roads north of Mill Street. They encourage anyone wishing to travel to the west-end of Chillicothe to take Water Street to Western Ave. Additionally, all traffic on Back Road will be diverted to U.S. 35 east. The State Patrol will also have troopers directing traffic at State Route 104 and U.S. 35.
