A Pickaway County woman has pleaded guilty in a case of attempted murder for hire.
Tara Arbogast, formerly Tara Lambert, 35, was accused of attempting the hire a hitman in July of 2015 to kill Kellie Cooke, the former girlfriend of her then husband.
Authorities said Arbogast had met with a man, that turned out to be an undercover detective, and paid him $125 as a down payment for the hit.
Arbogast had already been convicted of the crime in January of 2016 and was sentenced to 7 years, but the conviction was overturned due to a language error in the charges. She was subsequently re-indicted.
According to the Columbus Dispatch, Pickaway County Common Pleas Judge P. Randall Knece on Wednesday sentenced Arbogast to 5 years in prison with credit for 16 months already served.
Arbogast was not immediately taken into custody. She is to report to the Pickaway County Jail at 8:00 a.m. on July 30th.
