The Fayette County Fair is officially underway. Small Animal Queen Aubrey Schwartz said Showmanship takes place in the Rabbit Barn, Monday.
"Most people don't think (taking rabbits) is that hard, but you really do have to work with them just as much as a large animal if you really want to be good at what you do."
Additionally, Schwartz, of Miami Trace High School, said there's been a recent surge of interest in rabbits among local 4H members.
"Our numbers are up a lot," said Schwartz. "We actually have more (rabbits) than the hogs this year, so this is the first time that the hogs haven't been the largest."
Also at the Fayette County Fair, Monday, will be the Guys & Gals Lead at the Sales Arena at 5:30 p.m. and Bar Rodeo Bull Riding and Barrel Racing at 7 p.m.
