A two-vehicle collision involving a motorist and and a garbage truck resulted in the death of a Waverly man, Friday.
The Chillicothe Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol says Gary Payne, 47, of Waverly, was traveling northeast along Mt. Tabor Road in Ross County around 7:20 a.m. Friday when his 2010 Chevy Impala collided with the rear of a Rumpke trash truck that was stopped near Liberty Hill Road collecting garbage.
Mr. Payne was flown to Grant Medical Center in Columbus by Med-Flight where he succumbed to his injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
