Miles for Mutts Fun Trail Run & Walk

posted by Newsroom -

The 4th annual Miles for Mutts Fun Trail Run & Walk to benefit the the Ross County Humane Society takes place on Saturday, August 25th. The event gets underway at 9:30 a.m. that Saturday at the Hopewell Mound Group on Sulphur Lick Road.

Ross Humane Society Director Jenn Thomas said it's all about helping the dogs housed at the shelter.

"Miles for Mutts is a fun run and walk, and it's for people of all ages; you can either do 2 miles or 4 miles," said Thomas. "It's basically just a fundraiser to help care for the dogs that we have here in shelter, which can be up to 100 dogs at any given point in time."

The race is timed, and there will be prizes awarded for the top finishers in each category.

Participants are invited to bring their leashed and well-socialized dogs to take part in the event. The Humane Society will also bring some of its shelter dogs that people can walk during the race.

If you'd like to become a sponsor for the event, the cost is $100, which includes a race t-shirt with your name printed on. The cut-off date to receive a shirt is August 6th.

You can sign up now for a discounted entry fee of $30 at https://runsignup.com/Race/OH/Chillicothe/MilesforMutts. That price will go up on race day.
