The Chillicothe Paints grab a 1-0 lead in their best of three Eastern Division Series against Kokomo, winning Sunday night 3-1 at V.A. Memorial Stadium.
Wyatt Belinda provided all of the offense the Paints would need- driving in all three runs while pitcher Michael Jacob worked 8 innings- yielding one run on six Jackrabbit hits to gain the win.
Belinda knocked-in the first run in the second inning with a ground-out, then a 7th inning double drove-in two more runs. He went 1 for 3 at the plate.
Kokomo scored their lone run in the top of the 8th.
Game two of the series moves to Kokomo Monday night, where a Chillicothe victory would put them into the Prospect League Finals.
