17-year-old Callie Ward will be a senior this fall at Huntington High School. She says she has been competing since she could ride a horse.
She recently qualified for finals in Georgia where she won her "world champion" designation, after multiple shows and scoring before then. She qualified in her first try.
And what is barrel racing? In her association, it's riding a horse around barrels in a cloverleaf pattern as fast as possible. Callie says she has competed at the Ross County Fair in years past.
Ward's state finals will be in Springfield, Ohio, in September. She says she eventually wants to train horses.
