(24/7 Sports) -- With fall football season approaching, an expert on boys is talking about the dangers and advantages that school football has for kids. Dr. Warren Farrell says football has its dangers and they're becoming more obvious.
But, Farrell says football also teaches teamwork, planning and thinking ahead, all important lessons for life. He thinks flag football is better for kids because it teaches those valuable lessons without the physical dangers of regular football.
He adds that a recent study found concussions early in life strongly associated with dementia later.
Doctor Farrell is the author of The Boy Crisis: Why Our Boys Are Struggling and What We Can Do About It.
