School Board Accepts Delayed Jon Saxton Resignation

The Chillicothe school board has accepted the resignation of Jon Saxton...effective at the end of the year, and with a six-figure settlement.

In a special session Thursday evening, and after a 30 minute executive session, the school board voted four-to-one in favor of the resignation.  Saxton will remain as assistant to superintendent Debbie Swinehart until December 31st.

Bill Bonner was the lone dissenter on the board...saying this situation has dragged on too long, that former superintendent Jon Saxton will now be paid for doing almost no work, and he will also get a settlement of about $103,000.

The school board also voted to agree with Chillicothe Council on the terms of school resource officers, which they said council will vote on Monday.
