Bearcats Blitz Williamsburg


For the second week in a row, the Paint Valley Bearcats rolled up big numbers on offense while their defense was holding down the opponent in a 57-7 blowout of Williamsburg. Last week, Paint Valley rolled past Africentric 46-0.


The Bearcats defense capitalized on four Wildcat fumbles, including a strip return for a 35 yard score by Andrew Walker, while also holding them to 151 total yards. 


On offense, Paint Valley racked-up 313 total yards, with 188 on the ground and quarterback Brice Newland throwing 7/10 for 132 yards and two TD passes.  


Brayden Ison ran for two TD's from 30 and 31 yards while Caden Grubb scored twice on a pass reception and a 9 yard run. Lane Mettler, Elijah Tackett and Iann Cockerell rounded out the scoring. Ison also rushed for 62 yards.  PV had seven different ball carriers and five different receivers to catch passes.


Paint Valley improves to (2-0) and will face Wellston next week. Williamsburg drops to (0-2).
