FEMA's “Ready Campaign"

posted by Kevin Coleman -

Each September the Federal Emergency Management Agency conducts its “Ready Campaign."

FEMA regional administrator James Joseph says the campaign started in 2003 as a follow-up response to 9-11, but also includes preparation for natural disasters that he says can happen anywhere without warning.

He says you should be ready for an extended power outage or other big issues, and having non-perishable food and water stored up is important.  And he says communication following a disaster is sometimes limited.
