Chillicothe Law Enforcement to Pay Tribute to 9/11 with Honoring Our Heroes

Law Enforcement and Safety Service agencies throughout the Ross County area will join forces next Tuesday to honor the victims of the 9/11 Terrorist Attacks.

The event "Honoring Our Heroes" will take place on Tuesday, September 11th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the parking lot of the North Bridge Street Kroger in Chillicothe.

Chillicothe Police Detective, Bud Lytle, says it’ll offer displays from local police, fire and the U.S. Armed Forces.

"Kroger, The Jaycees, and First American Insurance a few years ago approached us about putting together some type of event to remember the events of 9/11," said Lytle. "We came up with this neat little event to have the community come out and enjoy some free food and meet and get to know us."

The Honoring Our Heroes event will also include a mini touch-a-truck with several safety services vehicles on display, and a parade through the city. The parade begins prior to the Honoring Our Heroes event. The procession will leave the Western Avenue Kroger at 5:45 p.m. that Tuesday. It'll travel along Western Avenue and then onto Main Street before making a left at Bridge Street where it will conclude at the North Bridge Street Kroger. Residents are encouraged to line the streets along the route to show their support.
