The Child Protection Center in Chillicothe will be hosting a Vicarious Trauma training September 24th.
It will discuss how people can become emotionally fatigued with the clients, patients, or consumers they serve. This training will assist with developing strategies in combatting vicarious trauma.
Dr. Tamarine Foreman has worked tirelessly with school systems, clinicians, and MDT members to assist helpers in coping with trauma.
Helpers open their minds and hearts as they or come in contact with stories of tragedy, devastation, and betrayal. When they engage with people who have experienced trauma, they open the door to experience vicarious traumatization and the opportunity for posttraumatic growth.
Join this presentation to identify risk factors, symptoms, and develop personal and organizational strategies to decrease the risk of developing vicarious traumatization and increase the opportunity for posttraumatic growth.
The training will be in the PACCAR Educational Center at 446 Hospital Road, north of Chillicothe. For registration, email joates@adena.org or call 740-779-7431
