Governor Debate Pulls No Punches

(24/7 News) -- Democrat Richard Cordray and Republican Mike DeWine's campaigns are preparing for the next round after a spirited first debate last night at the University of Dayton.

The two candidates traded shots against each other's positions on the opioid crisis, the Electronic Classroom of Tomorrow scandal, legalizing marijuana, and Issue One.

Richard Cordray said he would be okay with recreational marijuana use if Ohioans vote for it to be approved. Mike Dewine disagreed, saying he would not support that measure and was critical of Colorado's system of legal pot.

There are two more debates scheduled before the November election on October 1st in Marietta and October 8th in Cleveland.
