Portsmouth Gaseous Diffusion Plant Cleanup Funded

President Trump signed the Fiscal Year 2019 "Energy and Water, Legislative Branch, and Military Construction and Veterans Affairs Appropriations Act" conference report into law Friday.

It includes several key Ohio victories that U.S. Senators Sherrod Brown and Rob Portman announced they fought to include.

The final package includes more than $400 million in funding for the Portsmouth Gaseous Diffusion Plant near Piketon, which will ensure that cleanup continues as planned.

Workers at Piketon will also receive the necessary funding to maintain workforce levels and keep the cleanup at-pace.

Brown also said he secured $165 million for the Appalachian Regional Commission.
